Physical education contributes to spiritual and mental growth: Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman

PATNITOP, September 23: In addition to developing the physical form and nourishing the physical, physical education contributes to mental and spiritual growth to enable the overall development of one’s personality.
J&K Sports and Youth Services General Manager Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman said at the closing of the 12-day annual training and leadership camp, hosted by Government College. of Physical Education Ganderbal at the Youth Hostel, here.
72 college students attended the camp, which began on September 13, 2018.
Dr Saleem, who was the main guest at the farewell ceremony, said holding such camps helps immensely in cementing the bonds of mutual harmony and brotherhood.
He interacted with the campers and encouraged them to participate in such activities in order to acquire leadership qualities.
University students also presented colorful cultural programs representing the diverse culture of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Activities carried out during the camp included hiking, camp activities, community and cultural activities, painting, crafts, treasure hunting, etc. The camp ended with a campfire.
Earlier, Dr Hartej Singh, Principal of GCOPE Ganderbal, delivered a welcoming speech.
Finally, DG YSS distributed prizes to post holders of the cultural program and other related activities.
