Arunachal: Beginning of one-week training for physical education teachers in Pasighat


PASIGHAT (By Maksam Tayeng) – A week-long state-level refresher course for state-interested physical education teachers and sports teachers was inaugurated by Shashwat Sourabh, Special Secretary, Secondary and Computer Education, Government. from Arunachal Pradesh on Monday here at the Pasighat outdoor stadium as the main guest among the presence of male and female teachers who are due to take the refresher course, Dy. Director of School Education, East Siang District, DTO (Bharat Scout & Guide) and others.

A total of 37 teachers and 19 female teachers from all regions are participating in the refresher and training course in which the highest number of female teachers interested in sport has been registered, informed Tanya Padung, DTO (BS&G) who greeted the attendee with his inaugural message during the welcome speech.

While, Jongge Yirang, DDSE and organizing chairman of the refresher course, in his brief speech on goals and objectives, advised the teachers present to make the most of these week-long refresher courses, which are also good for self-maintenance of health and fitness.

While L. Sokun Singh YWO from the direction of secondary education informed the participants about the importance of physical activities and the compulsory implementation of yoga and Kho-Kho in schools.

Meanwhile, Shashwat Sourabh, as the main guest, highlighted the importance of physical education and activities which also advised teachers to do more and more physical activities in schools.

Adhitya Chintaman, a national trainer was delegated from the Indian Federation of Kho-Kho to coach the participants while Rohit Bori from Arts of Living was delegated as a yoga trainer.

The refresher training covered India, yoga, Kho-Kho, self-defense techniques, the importance of sport for school children, the importance of health and hygiene for school children, etc. ., informed Padung, DTO (BS & G).
